A message from the Chef
I prepare each dish with care, making everything by hand and putting my full attention into every step. After many years of working in different kitchens, I opened this small restaurant in Nezu in 2024 as a personal milestone, at a time when my children had grown.
Over the years, I have had many opportunities to cook for guests from overseas, and I always try to accommodate different dietary needs as much as possible. Whether vegetarian, vegan, or halal, please feel free to let me know in advance, and I will do my best to create a meal you can truly enjoy.
– Chef Yaotome

Ingredients & Dining Philosophy
At Kappo Fukura, the focus is on seasonal, high-quality ingredients. The chef draws on his experience in Fukui Prefecture, a coastal region known for its seafood, and maintains close relationships with suppliers to source fresh, carefully selected fish.
The cuisine is simple and balanced, with an emphasis on bringing out the natural flavors of each ingredient. Rather than focusing on elaborate presentation, Kappo Fukura offers a relaxed dining experience where guests can enjoy well-prepared dishes in a comfortable setting.
A selection of sake, wine, and shochu is also available. The sake is sourced from across Japan and chosen to pair well with the seafood, while wine and shochu provide options to suit different preferences.
