Kanazawa is famous for its oden (similar to the traditional Japanese hot pot), but our restaurant is unique in offering it in a kaiseki style. I think there are many people who have never eaten oden or don’t know about it, but oden is actually a home-cooked dish in Kanazawa.
Since you’ve come all the way to Kanazawa, I highly recommend trying our local oden, which showcases a large variety of seafood and vegetables from our region!
Established in 2019 in the heart of Kanazawa, “Kagami” offers a unique dining experience that reimagines traditional Kanazawa oden (Japanese hot pot) through the lens of contemporary kaiseki cuisine. Unlike typical oden establishments that often have a casual setting, this restaurant presents oden as part of a elegant kaiseki course meal. Enjoy a selection of oden dishes, alongside fresh sashimi, traditional Japanese side dishes, meat dish, rice dish, and more.
Housed in a fully renovated traditional townhouse that’s over 100 years old, the restaurant seamlessly blends old-world charm with modern elegance. Inside, the thoughtfully chosen interior design creates a sophisticated and inviting atmosphere, making it a perfect setting to enjoy a Kanazawa oden kaiseki experience.

Redefining the traditional Kanazawa oden with a clear, delicate broth made from bonito, kombu, and salt serves as the perfect foundation for fresh, locally sourced ingredients delivered directly from nearby markets like Omicho Market. Each ingredient is thoughtfully paired with a tailored broth to enhance its natural flavors, ensuring every dish offers a unique and taste. Seasonal ingredients keep the menu fresh, with highlights like Nodoguro Oden—a nod to Hokuriku’s prized blackthroat seaperch.
Every dish is presented on Kutaniyaki porcelain, Kanazawa’s celebrated traditional ware, adding a touch of local artistry to the dining experience. In addition to the course menu, guests can enjoy an array of à la carte oden and other dishes, too.
