Traditional Kyoto Kaiseki in Kyoto

Kyoto-style Kaiseki Recommendations

Kyo-kaiseki (京懐石) is a traditional Kyoto interpretation of kaiseki, rooted in 16th century tea ceremony culture. These restaurants serve the most classical style of Japanese multi-course dining, built around dashi broths made from Kyoto kombu and bonito, locally grown heirloom vegetables, and menus that change with the season.
All of the traditional Kyoto kaiseki restaurants below are in central Kyoto, including Gion, around Kyoto Station, Nishijin, and near the Philosopher's Path. Reserve online through MACHIYA LOCALS and receive confirmation within 72 hours.
