Course Menu
Handmade Soba Noodles & Signature Wagyu Beef Katsu
Kappo is a style of Japanese cuisine that highlights the skill and techniques used to prepare each dish. At Kappo Kyo Shogoin, carefully prepared seasonal dishes reflect Kyoto’s traditional flavors and culinary culture.
The restaurant’s signature handmade soba noodles are prepared with buckwheat flour from Hokkaido. Another specialty is wagyu beef katsu, a breaded wagyu cutlet that offers a different way to experience wagyu from teppanyaki or sukiyaki.
Courses centered around fish and vegetables are also available for guests who prefer not to eat meat. Vegetarian requests can be accommodated wherever possible; guests are welcome to inquire in advance.
Set quietly within a residential neighborhood, this hidden-away kappo restaurant offers a peaceful setting in which to enjoy seasonal Japanese cuisine.
